We have also moved on from silver amalgam fillings, which work incredibly well and have been shown to be very safe for people, but have bad effects on the environment.

Medicines that are 1 to 100 nanometers in size have special properties against microbes. They get into the tiny pores where tooth structure has been lost. They either regenerate lost parts of the tooth, or integrate in the dentin or enamel to protect against future decay with dramatic effectiveness.

Biomimetic Glass Restorations

Advanced materials mimic and restore the natural properties of the tooth. There is no indication for removal of healthy tooth structure, nor complicated isolation with rubber dams. A gentle, non-scraping deep cleaning technique using a stream of air, water, and fine, sweet polyol powder to remove stains and biofilm.

Supersonic waves transmitted by water simultaneously cools, soothes, and breaks up tartar. Tartar irritates the gums so much that it makes them break down the bone that holds the teeth in. We often use tartar softening gel before scaling to make the experience easier for you - and for us!

Therapeutic Tartar Softening Gel

A specialized sulfonated phenol gel shrinks tartar and detaches it from the tooth. This “desiccation therapy” makes deep cleanings dramatically more comfortable. It is applied again after the cleaning, permanently removing gum disease microbes that otherwise persist.

Dietary Balance

The source of most gum inflammation is diet. We are surrounded by over-processed under-nutritive foods. The only long term solution to gum disease is increasing the balance of foods or supplements high in nutrients like the following: omega 3 fatty acids (EPA, DHA), curcumin (turmeric), polyphenols like resveratrol from berries and ECGC from green tea, flavonoids like quercetin (from fruits and vegetables), ginger, vitamin D, frankincense, and magnesium. We’ll work with you to find simple changes that are practical for you.
